This is the ride people picture when they imagine Catalonia: pine-scented forest roads in the morning, a fishing harbour at lunch and a cliff-top balcony road in the afternoon light. It is the single best introduction to why professional riders from twenty countries choose to live in Girona.

We keep the group at eight riders so nobody gets dropped and everybody gets a wheel to sit on. Your guide handles the navigation, the traffic, the café orders and the punctures — you handle the pedalling and the photographs.

Ride highlights

  • The Els Àngels climb — 10 km at a steady 4.5% with the whole Empordà plain behind you
  • Sea-level espresso in the fishing harbour of Sant Feliu de Guíxols
  • The GI-682 balcony road, 18 km of cliff-edge tarmac above the Mediterranean
  • Photo stop at the Santa Cristina cove viewpoint
  • Recovery beer on the Rambla back in Girona

How the day unfolds

  1. Bike fit & coffee at the shop

Meet your guide, dial in saddle height and pedals, and take on a cortado before rolling out through the Old Town.

  2. Els Àngels climb

The classic warm-up climb of the Girona peloton — steady gradients, hairpins and a chapel at the top.

  3. Descent to the Costa Brava

A flowing 20 km descent through cork oak forest towards the coast at Sant Feliu.

  4. Harbour lunch

Grilled fish, salad and a slice of coca in a seafront restaurant with the bikes in sight.

  5. The balcony road

The most photographed tarmac in Catalonia: rolling cliff-top curves towards Tossa de Mar.

  6. Back to Girona

A tailwind run down the Onyar valley and a cold drink on the terrace.

How fit do I need to be?
If you ride 3–4 hours comfortably at home you will enjoy this day. The pace is conversational and the group regroups at every climb.

Yes — deduct €25 from the price if you bring your own machine. We still carry spares for your groupset.
What happens if it rains?
We reroute to a shorter sheltered loop or move the tour to another day at no cost.
