Cork forests, dry riverbeds and hilltop villages on the hardpack tracks that turned Girona into the gravel capital of …
A moderate gravel tour through Cap de Creus headland, 153 km with 1574 m of climbing, fully supported.

Our multi-day gravel loop through the wild heart of Cap de Creus begins with the quiet rush of Sarrià de Ter bridge, where the tarmac gives way to red hardpack tracks that snake through windswept Mediterranean scrub. This is riding where every pedal stroke connects you to the landscape—the 153km route unfolds with a perfect balance of gravel (51%) and tarmac (49%), designed for those who love the feel of wide, tubeless-friendly tires on mixed surfaces. The 1,574 meters of elevation gain spread across 4–6 hours of daily riding make this a proper adventure for gravel enthusiasts seeking moderate challenge without extremes. The route suits riders who crave long, flowing descents through sun-baked farm tracks and punchy climbs where the scent of rosemary and thyme rises from the dry earth.
The highlight of this fully supported tour is the Fageda d’en Jordà Beech Forest, a surreal green island in the rocky Cap de Creus headland. Here, the air cools under the towering beeches, and the gravel surface shifts to a dusty singletrack that rewards careful line choice. Before that, you’ll pause in the medieval square of Palau-sator, where the honey-colored stone houses frame a perfect spot for coffee at Can Roca corner bar. The farm tracks weaving between Palau-sator and its surrounding hamlets offer a taste of rural Catalonia, where time moves at the speed of a bicycle. Every section of this ride has been chosen to maximize the sensory experience—from the crunch of gravel under tires to the sudden silence of the beech forest.
What makes this route special is its variety. One moment you’re descending fast on smooth hardpack, the next you’re navigating a short technical section near the forest. The 51-49 gravel-to-tarmac split ensures you never get bored, while the fully supported nature of the tour means you can focus entirely on the riding. By the time you cross the finish line, you’ll have covered some of Catalonia’s most beautiful and varied terrain, with memories of red-dust trails, medieval squares, and the cool shade of ancient trees.
Bike fit, a short loop into Cap de Creus headland to test the legs, and a welcome dinner in Girona.
The toughest stage of the week, taking in Coll de Sant Roc and the villages around Cap de Creus headland.
A short final loop near Fageda d'en Jordà Beech Forest followed by a long lunch before transfers home.
