Girona’s gravel is not an afterthought — it is a 500 km web of forest tracks, farm lanes and dry riverbeds that connects almost every village in the province without touching a main road. This day gives you the best of it in one loop: fast dusty sectors, two climbs that count, three coffee stops and a descent you will talk about all week.

How the day unfolds

  1. Tyre pressure and briefing

    We set pressures for the day's surfaces and run through the hand signals for loose gravel.

  2. Into the cork forest

    Straight off the tarmac and onto the red hardpack that climbs above the city.

  3. Madremanya coffee

    Stone village, shaded square, the best carrot cake in the Baix Empordà.

  4. Ter valley sectors

    Fast, flat and dusty — the closest you will get to riding a spring classic in shorts.

  5. Forest descent home

    A twisting 6 km drop through pines that arrives at the city walls.

Good to know

Do I need gravel experience?
No, but you should be comfortable riding a bike off tarmac. The surfaces are hardpack and smooth stone, not technical mountain-bike trails.
What tyres do the rental bikes use?
Tubeless 45 mm file-tread tyres — fast on the road sections and grippy in the dust.
Can I bring my own gravel bike?
Absolutely. Minimum 38 mm tyres recommended for comfort on the rougher sectors.
