Les Gavarres is a 350 km² block of cork oak between Girona and the sea, laced with trails that never appear on a tourist map. We shuttle the boring climbs, ride the good stuff twice and finish on the singletrack that drops you at the medieval walls in time for a cold drink.

Ride highlights

  • Six named descents in one day, including the 4 km 'Vermut' flow trail
  • Shuttle van saves 700 m of fire-road climbing
  • Rock slabs above the Empordà with sea views
  • Skills coaching on cornering and steep drops
  • Full-suspension 140 mm trail bikes with fresh brakes

How the day unfolds

  1. Bike setup and skills check

Suspension sag, brake reach and a short skills loop so the guide can pace the day correctly.

  2. Shuttle to the ridge

A 25-minute van transfer puts you straight at the top of the massif.

  3. Three morning descents

Loamy switchbacks, then a rock-slab traverse, then the fastest flow line of the day.

  4. Masia lunch

Country restaurant, grilled meat, salad and a bottomless jug of water.

  5. Afternoon trails

Steeper and more technical, with a bail-out option on every section.

  6. Descent into Girona

The classic trail that spits you out beside the Roman walls.

Good to know

How technical are the trails?
Blue to black. You should be able to ride steep loose corners and small drops without stopping. We adapt the route to the group.
Are e-MTBs available?
Yes, for a €25 supplement, and they make the day noticeably easier.
Can beginners join?
Not this one — book the Old Town E-Bike tour or ask us about our half-day MTB introduction instead.
