Rocacorba is not a famous Tour de France climb. It is better known than that in cycling circles: it is the private test bench of the riders who live here, the number everyone quotes at the café. Thirteen kilometres, no flat metres, and a wall at kilometre nine that decides your time.

We run it properly — a real warm-up, timing gates, bottles handed up where you need them, and a full analysis of your file over coffee afterwards.

Ride highlights

  • 13.2 km of climbing at an average 6.9% with ramps of 15%
  • Official timing from the Banyoles lake road to the antenna
  • Your effort side-by-side with the local pro benchmarks
  • Lake Banyoles flat spin for the warm-up and cool-down
  • Summit photo above the cloud line on a clear morning

How the day unfolds

  1. Warm-up to Banyoles

A 25 km rolling approach along quiet farm roads to the volcanic lake of Banyoles.

  2. The timed ascent

You set off in one-minute intervals. The support car carries your jacket and hands up bottles at kilometre 7.

  3. Summit & regroup

Photos at the antennas, a look at everyone's numbers and a jacket before the descent.

  4. Café stop in Banyoles

Bocadillo, coffee and the traditional exaggeration of the gradients.

  5. Return to Girona

A gentle valley road home with the legs already full.

On the road

Good to know

What gearing do you recommend?
A compact chainset with a 32 or 34 sprocket. Our rental bikes come with 34x34 as standard and we can fit an 11-36 cassette on request.
Is there a time cut?
No. The support car stays behind the last rider and nobody is left alone on the mountain.
Can non-climbers join?
Yes — a second guide rides the flat lake loop with anyone who prefers to skip the ascent.
