Not every day has to hurt. The Vies Verdes is an old narrow-gauge railway turned into 125 km of car-free greenway, and the section north of Girona is flat, shaded and dotted with station cafés. Take the kids, take a picnic, and let us drive you home when everyone has had enough.

Ride highlights

  • Zero traffic — a converted railway line the whole way
  • Old station cafés at Bescanó and Anglès
  • Picnic meadow beside the Ter river
  • Return by shuttle so nobody has to ride back tired
  • Child seats, trailers and tag-alongs at no extra cost

How the day unfolds

  1. Pick up your bikes

Sizing, helmets and a paper map plus a GPS track on your phone.

  2. Roll out on the greenway

Flat, shaded and completely car-free from the first metre.

  3. Station café at Anglès

The old ticket office is now the best ice-cream stop on the line.

  4. Riverside picnic

Meadows, shallow water and shade — the natural turnaround point.

  5. Shuttle home

We collect you and the bikes at the agreed station and drive you back to Girona.
